Brush Up Paint-A-Thon

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

Brush Up Nebraska Paint-a-thon is in it’s 22nd year! Painting days are approaching quickly!  The Paint-a-thon will be held on Saturday, August 7 (prep day) and August 14 (paint day).  BRUSH UP NEBRASKA Paint-A-Thon is a community based volunteer program that paints the homes of low-income elderly and low-income disabled homeowners so that they may maintain their property, increase energy efficiency, and beautify the community.  Painting their home creates a new sense of pride for the homeowners, and benefits the area.  Countryside’s own Tom and Sheila Pettigrew, Executive Director of BRUCH UP NEBRASKA, shared that in past 21 years. Over 2,273 homes have been painted by the volunteers participating in BRUSH UP NEBRASKA. Sign up today as we help others in helping themselves!   www.BRUSHUPNEBRASKA.org

Would it be all right with you if life got easier?  Would you like to experience glowing and luminous moments in your day? What if you were introduced to some simple tools and principles that would help you live a simpler life?  Join life coach Nancy Dennis in a seven week practical study of the book “Mastering Life’s Energies”, by Dr. Maria Nemeth.

Suggested donation for the class is $75/7 week session on Thursday evenings June 24 – August 5, 6:30-8:30 PM in the Chapel. Books may be purchased at the Bookworm.  Sign up today at the Information Station or by contacting Mary Beth at marybethl@countrysideucc.org or 391-0350, ext. 112.

Small Group Sign Ups

Thursday, May 20th, 2010

The Phoenix Affirmation small groups are forming for a 12 week study this summer.  If you were unable to participate previously, this is a great opportunity for you to jump in!  Groups are forming currently and will begin study during the week of June 2, 2010.  The small groups consist of 10-12 individuals who meet on a weekly basis for approximately 1 hour either in someone’s home, the church, a restaurant or even in the park!  Sign ups are available by contacting Mary Beth at 391-0350 ext. 112 or at marybethl@countrysideucc.org, by calling the church office or by signing up after church services.  Don’t miss this opportunity to grow in fellowship with others, deepen your own spirituality and have a great time doing so.

Bad Boys of the Bible small group is an eight week worship series and small group study.  Each week in worship, the focus is on a different “bad boy” from Scripture – normally, a well-known person who was strong and faithful in certain respects, yet weak and challenged in others.  Through their triumphs and tragedies, you’ll come to understand your own struggles in a different light, providing wisdom, challenge, and hope in your daily walk.
