Ways to Give

We have $20,300,000 committed to our Relocation Campaign and need $6,700,000 to meet our goal of $27,000,000.

Outright Gifts

An outright gift is the most immediate way to benefit Countryside Community Church. You will receive a charitable income tax deduction in the year of the gift. While virtually any asset can be given, cash is the most common outright gift as it allows you to apply it against a larger percentage of your taxable income rather than a deduction for a property gift.

Employers Matching Gifts

If your employer has a matching gift program, your gift will be leveraged to make an even bigger impact on our relocation goal. If you are unsure if your employer has such a program, your human resources office willbe able to advise you. Please let the church office know what documentation is needed to request any matching funds

Gifts of Life Insurance

You may have purchased a life insurance policy years ago for which the need no longer exists. Donations of cash value life insurance policies allow Countryside Church the option of either holding the policy until the maturity date or surrendering the policy in order to receive the policy’s current value.

Caution : If you have borrowed against a life insurance policy, a gift of the policy with the loan still outstanding will create taxable income for you in the amount of the loan balance.

Gifts of Stock or Mutual Funds

When you give appreciated securities, you may receive an immediate tax deduction and savings on capital gains taxes. Making a gift of appreciated securities to Countryside Community Church gives you the possibility to diversify your portfolio.

Gifts from your IRA

If you are 70 1/2 or older, you can make a tax-free distribution of up to $100,000 per year directly from your IRA directly to Countryside Community Church.

The advantages of an IRA contribution:
1) Distributions are not taxable to you when made directly to Countryside Church. At the same time, since they are not taxable, they are also not deductible on your return.
2) Distributions will satisfy your annual Required Minimum Distributions.
3) If you do not itemize your deductions, you will realize an increased tax benefit for your giving.
4) IRA gifts may exceed the 50% annual deduction limitation.
5) Distributions are not limited when charitable tax deduction carry forwards are present.
6) IRA gifts help reduce the taxable portion of your estate (your retirement accounts) and increase the tax-free portion of your estate that will receive a stepped-up basis.

Caution : Tax advantages should never be assumed. For expert advice, always consult your attorney, financial planner or tax accountant.
