A columbarium is a room that is appropriately respectful, where the earthly remains of church members (ashes) receive care in perpetuity, much like the church cemetery of an earlier time. Many people find great comfort knowing that their ashes are near good people in a religious environment. At Countryside, 13130 Faith Plaza, overlooking the Tri-Faith Commons.
Columbarium FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
How are the niches arranged?
Niches are arranged in rows and columns. Each niche provides space for two urns (i.e., a companion niche). A purchaser who desires space for only one urn still purchases one companion niche and simply doesn’t use the second niche. The cost is the same. The purchaser retains the right to use the other niche.
What guarantee of perpetual care is provided?
The Countryside Community Church Charitable Foundation (i.e., the Foundation) has established a perpetual care trust. This trust exists exclusively to provide funds to maintain the columbarium. A portion of the companion niche cost is set aside in the trust. The Foundation has responsibility for the overall operation of the columbarium.
What is the cost?
Each companion niche costs $2,500 ($2,000 is considered as a charitable contribution to the Foundation). When compared to a traditional burial, this is generally a less expensive alternative.
Can a church member buy additional companion niches?
Yes, because parents and children may live in other cities, or belong to other churches, a family may obtain additional niches. Members of Countryside Church , and those who have a Countryside relationship, may purchase the companion niches.
How many companion niches will be available?
520 companion niches are available.
What size urn fits in the companion niche?
The companion niche is 7″ x 7″ x 14″. Each urn cannot be larger than 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 6.5″. The family provides the urn for the ashes of the loved one. You are free to provide your own urn or they can be purchased from the Foundation at a cost of $50.00 each.
What if I change my mind?
If circumstances change, a $500 refund will be paid for each companion niche released. The additional charitable contribution to the Foundation is nonrefundable.
What are the options for identifying each niche?
When urns are placed in the niche, the name and dates will be engraved on the marble facing.
