Join Rev. Dr. Don Sarton for a two-part series exploring the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on nonviolent resistance and civil disobedience. Through presentation and discussion, we’ll examine the core principles that shaped historic movements for justice—and what they mean for us today.
Sundays, June 22 & 29, 11:15 am–12:15 pm
Participants will be invited to reflect personally on the potential risks involved in nonviolent protest, including arrest, fingerprinting, jail time, and the possibility of verbal or physical abuse. Guidance will be offered to help each person discern their own level of readiness.
Please note: Attending the class indicates interest in learning more and does not imply a commitment to participate in acts of protest or resistance.
