New opportunities are on the horizon for our young artists!
Children in grades kindergarten through six will have opportunities to explore all types of performance and media arts in a project-based arts curriculum. Projects are designed around the twelve Phoenix Affirmations that will be the basis of our worship series’ beginning this fall.
The kids will meet on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 PM to coincide with youth activities (only one drop-off for parents!) They will work on three projects for thirty minutes each and finish the afternoon with dinner in Memorial Hall at 6:00 PM. Parents can choose to pick their little ones up at 6:00 PM, or after dinner at 6:30 PM. Parents are asked to volunteer by assisting a teacher for one 6-week project (art, drama/movement, or music) and to assist with a dinner. Members of the Board of Arts and Music will be calling families in August to answer questions about the program and to build the volunteer schedule for the year. Note: all children and youth choirs will be wrapped into the Arts Affirmation curriculum meeting on Sunday afternoons. Children’s choir programing will no longer be held on Wednesday evenings. Holy Moly and Core 56 will continue on Wednesday evenings.
