Help Plant Seeds of Faith: Volunteer with Discovery Kids!

Do you have a heart for children, a free Sunday morning once a month, and a desire to make a difference? If so, we’d love to have you join the Discovery Kids team at Countryside!

Discovery Kids is our Sunday morning program for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Each week, our kids explore Bible stories, engage in creative activities, and build friendships in a loving, welcoming environment—and we need a few more helping hands to make it all happen!

What’s Involved?

Volunteering with Discovery Kids is a low-stress, high-reward opportunity to connect with the youngest members of our faith community. Here’s what to expect:

  • One Sunday per month: Just 40 minutes of your time—from 10:15 to 10:55 a.m.
  • No prep required: Our Director of Spiritual Formation, Heather Moran, provides everything you’ll need. Just come ready to lead and have fun!
  • Age groups: You’ll work with one of three age groups—Kindergarten–1st grade, 2nd–3rd grade, or 4th–6th grade.
  • Orientation: We’ll host a brief training session in June or July to get you acquainted with the space, materials, and rhythms of the program.

Why Volunteer?

You don’t have to be a teacher or a Bible expert. You just need to care about kids and want to be part of shaping their experience of church as a place of love, curiosity, and belonging.

Whether you’re a parent, a grandparent, a young adult, or a longtime member looking for a new way to serve, this is a wonderful opportunity to plant seeds of faith and build community.

And did we mention the laughter, glitter, and occasional snack break? It’s all part of the joy!
