This holiday season, help Countryside protect the environment by recycling heavy white expanded polystyrene (EPS). From Dec. 15, 2024, through Jan. 12, 2025, our Social Justice and Outreach Board will provide a collection site to accept the packaging foam often used for TVs, appliances, and perishables like Omaha Steaks. Instead of filling up landfills, your foam will be repurposed by Plastilite!
Plastilite manufactures EPS minnow buckets, picnic coolers and insulated shippers. The company strives to be a good steward of the earth and works to reduce its carbon footprint. The company’s goal is to recycle as much EPS as it produces.
The company reports they have a long way to go, but they’re “making great strides. Our environmental impact report shows the progress we have made.”
Beginning Dec. 15, you can find the drop-off site on the lower level near the south double doors. Stop by during Monday–Friday, 8 am–4 pm. Ring the buzzer at the lower-level door or enter through the main upper-level doors for access. Please – no tape, labels, packing peanuts, flexible foam, or food containers.
With so much EPS created during the holiday season, let’s work together to recycle and reduce waste. Start collecting your Styrofoam today, and help give it another life!
