Join us on Tuesday, May 6, at 7 p.m., for a special interfaith worship service marking the 50th anniversary of the 1975 Omaha tornado. The event remembers the devastating tornadoes that struck Omaha that day, and the subsequent establishment of Together, an organization that seeks to end hunger and homelessness in our community. The non-profit formed in the wake of this devastating event after seven Omaha faith communities came together to help the people affected by the disaster.

- First United Methodist Church, 7020 Cass St.
As tornado relief efforts ended, Together’s founders recognized that many Omaha families still faced daily struggles with food and housing. They unanimously decided to continue the organization’s services. Today, Together operates Choice food pantries in Omaha and Council Bluffs and provides housing assistance to help people secure or maintain safe, stable homes. It also works to transform how our community addresses hunger and homelessness at a systemic level.
