The September issue of Currents is here—and there’s a lot to discover. This month, we’re exploring migration, displacement and hospitality in several ways: welcoming the Rev. Isaac Villegas, author of Migrant God: A Christian Vision for Immigrant Justice, to Countryside; inviting you to join Jenny for a book study of Migrant God; and gathering for a screening of the new documentary Jesus Was a Migrant.
But Currents is also about the people who make this community what it is. This issue includes a special collection of fellowship photos—a chance to see some of the faces, friendships and everyday moments from our annual festival that make Countryside feel like Countryside.
And then there’s the garden. What can happen when a community puts more than 2,000 hours of volunteer work into growing food? The answer is pretty remarkable. Take a look at this year’s Tri-Faith Garden harvest and the difference our volunteers are making, one row at a time.
