Established in 1953, Kindernook Preschool was one of the first preschools in Omaha. The preschool was originally founded as an outreach ministry program at Countryside Community Church. Through the years, Kindernook has become a tradition among many Omaha families. Many current Kindernook students are the third generation in their families to attend.
From the beginning, Kindernookâs philosophy has been that children will acquire knowledge and skills by actively interacting with the environment in ways that are meaningful to them. Through this kind of exploration, a child develops problem-solving skills, a keen interest in particular areas, and positive self-esteem. We teach kindness, compassion, care for the earth and one another. Children are given the opportunity to explore in a supportive classroom environment. Teachers act as learning guides providing the children with the tools and knowledge to be successful.
