Impact Speaker Patrick McNamara: Inner Peace, World Peace

 

Impact Speaker Patrick McNamara, Ph.D. will present Inner Peace, World Peace: How our Spiritual Work is Connected to Our Community Work at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30.

McNamara is the director of International Studies at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He holds degrees in public administration, conflict analysis and resolution, and ethics and comparative religions. He’s worked with universities, corporations, governments, NGOs, and foundations for over 30 years.

He’s consulted with more than 300 organizations and presented workshops in the US, Afghanistan, India, Israel, Japan, Morocco, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Tajikistan, United Kingdom, and Vietnam. He gave the TEDxOmaha Talk, Water Conflict, Water Peace.

McNamara teaches peacebuilding, social entrepreneurship and sustainable development. He trains community, corporate and nonprofit leaders in conflict management and negotiation skills. He also mediates interpersonal, community, organizational and international conflicts. Patrick started a consulting firm resolving internal disputes in churches, synagogues and mosques and has worked with the US Department of Justice’s Community Relations Service mediating community and school conflict in Los Angeles, Ombudsman for the City of Portland designing Police and Citizens Talking (PACT) program.
