Countryside presents a weekend of free holiday events to spread the season’s joy with Follow the Star, Jazz Coffeehouse and a Pipe Organ Extravaganza.
Follow the Star lights the way on Saturday at 5 p.m. This one-day, festive event explories the different aspects of the holiday season, including the Christmas Tree, Holiday Foods and the Nativity. Follow maps and guide stars on the floor to exhibits that dive deeper into these seasonal traditions. Many of the stations include a children’s component.
After exploring Follow the Star, stick around for Jazz Coffeehouse. This perennial favorite is a Christmas tradition. Countryside Jazz performs your favorite traditional and contemporary holiday music with a jazz flair. So, kick back and enjoy great music with a cup of coffee from Common Grounds. All are welcome!
On Sunday at 4 p.m., Countryside will resonate with a Pipe Organ Extravaganza and the sounds of Christmas! Director of Arts Ministry and organist Alex Ritter presents a concert of new and old Christmas music played on Countryside’s John-Paul Buzard Opus 47 pipe organ.
